During the return flight, the experienced pilot flew into a snow shower with extremely poor visibility, ignored alternative routes, and lost control of the aircraft after several failed approach attempts. The German Accident Investigation Board (BFU) identifies the main causes as inadequate weather preparation, adherence to the original plan (\u201ccontinuation bias\u201d), and overestimation of one\u2019s own abilities. The accident highlights the importance of thorough weather checks and having an alternative plan during flight operations.<\/p>\n<p>This accident demonstrates that even on short flights in familiar surroundings, careful weather preparation and a Plan B are essential.
